progress!

went to a write-in thingy today with sister. i actually got some words in, which was awesome. my goal for tonight is to get some kind of outline done. i still haven't figured out the whole story chronology-plot thing. i just have a few major scenes in mind, so the rest is you know. the thing. i got some character sketching done last night and this afternoon before we left. next year i will definitely do things differently. but that's next year. i still have a couple weeks left, so i'll see how far i can get.

i learned about a couple really neat tools that will help my motivation some. i also need to re-read a couple things, and maybe finish bleak house. i need to figure out how to write the literary fiction without it turning into a hugo thing, where there's a whole chapter on the battle of waterloo, just to set up the whole thiendeau reveal near the end of the novel. i should also research what 'modern literary fiction' would be considered. and how is that different from mainstream fiction?
