yearly post?

in the 10 months (almost to the day, weird) since my last blog post, i have:

  1. finished reading and seeing all the Harry Potter books/movies. really enjoyed them, can definitely see myself re-reading them again often. it's been a very long time since i've encountered another series that so gripped me and inspired me to write. someday, i will really seriously write something from start to finish. i think i'm just one of those slow movers, takes 10 years to finish anything, but that's okay.
  2. suffered through another English Premier League season, and happily saw my team (Wigan Athletic) beat relegation soundly with one week of play to go, but i also saw West Ham United gain promotion back to the EPL, and little Crawley Town climb up to the third tier of play. next season is going be kicking. just about a month to go!!
  3. have understood why so many people play fantasy league sports. MLS fantasy is my favorite thing to do that isn't webkinz or pottermore (don't judge)
  4. have discovered the wonders of hulu and am grateful for the great Korean shows, especially A Gentleman's Dignity. it is just so funny and sweet and awesome, makes me feel happy like my favorite BritComs whenever i watch it.
i need to work on follow through with my writing. i was going to write a little bit each day, but that hasn't work out so well. partly because there's only so much i can do without serious research, which takes time, but i still haven't worked out everything in my mind. which unfortunately, seems to be the only way i can do things. if i'm in the right setting, that magic will happen where i can just write kind of linearly, but i loose steam and then have to go back to thinking about plot for a few weeks before i can work again. it would probably help if i wasn't thinking of three other stories at once, but maybe i just need to go back and forth when i need a break. i often feel so inspired to write, but just can't seem to make my fingers type when i sit down to do it. partly because i don't think the things in my head will look the same when they become tangible, like they'll loose their ethereal glow and warmth once they are trapped on the computer screen.
